The gorgeous Perennial Essence suite has been my product of the week this week and hence the focus for my Facebook Lives.
Monday
On Monday, as usual, we were CASEing the catalogue. Re-creating one of the samples that are there to inspire us in the pages of our inspiration manual – the Annual Catalogue.
Both the card base and the Designer Series paper were embossed with the Subtles 3D embossing folder and the flower was created by stamping and heat embossing onto the coloured vellum and punching it out with the co-ordinating punch
Thursday
On Thursday, I took inspiration from a swap card I had received quite a while ago to create a shaped card using the stitched label dies.
Let’s Shape Up
You can watch me creating the card in the video below, but I promised I would give you the measurements for the card base,
They may seem a little odd, but the size of the card was dictated by the size of the largest stitched label die.
I started with a strip of Blackberry Bliss card measuring 25.25cm x 6.7cm. It is scored along the long side at 6.25cm/9.5cm/15.75cm/19cm.
Using the partial die cutting method, I cut the two stitched and shaped ends. The other layers are all created with the stitched label dies
The flower was stamped in Blackberry Bliss ink, with a Mango Melody Centre and the leaves were all stamped in Mossy Meadow and a Blender Pen used to drag the colour out.
Stay in Shape
The second card I created on Thursday was also a shaped card using the stitched label die. This time I used the largest die to create a shaped easel card.
I started with a piece of flirty flamingo card stock measuring 14.9cm x 13.5cm.
I folded it in half along the 13.5cm side. To create the card, you then need to place the fold just below the cut line on the die, before running it through the die cutting machine. You do not want the fold to be cut, because you need it to be a hinge.
The flowers were stamped in memento ink and coloured with Stampin’ Blends. I used the So Saffron combo, the Petal Pink combo and the light Calypso Coral.
The leaves were stamped in Old Olive ink on the coloured vellum and punched out with the co-ordinating leaf punch.
Again you can see the card being created in the video below.
The Products
There is so much to love about this suite of products. Those flowers can create such a stunning bouquet of different styles of flowers. This is illustrated beautifully in a card on offer for my County Classes in June, when we again took inspiration from the Annual catalogue. Lots of fussy cutting in this one, but so worth it!
