For today’s post i have been using a sketch to create bright floral cards.

Welcome to this month’s Crafty Challenge Hop. This Hop is brought to you be members of the Crafty Collaborations Community. We are a group of demonstrators who like to take part in the diversity of hops that the group put on. This one features a different challenge each month.
This month’s challenge is a sketch challenge.

Using A Sketch To Create Bright Floral Cards

I played with this sketch on a recent Live and decided to use 2 different floral bundles/suites. I also looked at the sketch in 2 different ways, because the sketch is always just a starting point.
You can see a full list of the products I have used at the end of the post, including links to my online shop.
Happy Hibiscus

For this first card, I used the sketch in the orientation as given. The background and flowers are in Petunia Pop – a gorgeous vibrant magenta pink colour.
The background is embossed with the Happy Hibiscus 3D Embossing folder. The flower outlines are all stamped in Memento ink. They are 2 step stamping flowers, so each of this trio of flowers has a coordinating stamp that adds colour. They are all stamped in Petunia Pop, but for the two lighter flowers, I stamped off onto some scrap paper first.
Not only is the embossing folder 3D, but it is also a Hybrid Embossing folder. This means there is a die that will snuggle into the embossing folder and emboss and cut out the flowers in one run through the Cut & Emboss machine.
I added 3 Basic white panels across a strip of Basic black card on the front of the card. Onto each of these panels I have added one of the deeply embossed and stamped flowers. Tucked in with the flowers are some Soft Sea Foam leaves.
The sentiment strip is created with a die from the Happy Hibiscus Die set. It is lovely with the details on each end. The sentiment also comes from the bundle.
Some black Baker’s Twine and Black Adhesive Backed Sparkle gems.
Floral Delight

For this 2nd card, I turned the sketch around to make a landscape card.
This time I used the Daffodil Delight gingham paper from the Floral Delight 12″ x 12″ pack and a banner of Vellum from the Floral & gingham Vellum pack.
The flowers on this card were fussy cut from the Designer Series paper pack and were added to Basic Black panels. The sentiment comes from the Delightful Wishes stamp set. Final touches are added using the Daffodil Delight satin ribbon, a tiny bee trinket and some adhesive backed metallic gems.

You can see both of these cards being created on this recent Live.
