A Halloween card featuring Tearing And Sanding White Core Cardstock
This card is my contribution to the Design Team’s selection for the latest Festive Friday Challenge, which is celebrating Halloween.
We have used this occasion to come up with a list of elements that we call our Inspo List.
The Inspo List is 10 items you can choose from to create your project in our card making and paper crafting challenge. Incorporate THREE of the items in your project and link up! And guess what? Your project doesn’t have to be about the theme at all! The selected festivity is just a unique way to come up with a fun and interesting inspiration list!
My project used: black, orange, die cuts and witches. Although there are no witches in the picture, there are definitely signs one is about!
Tearing And Sanding White Core Cardstock
This fun Halloween card features some of our new two-tone cardstock, which has a white core.
I started off with a Basic Black standard card base and then cut a mat of the Pumpkin Pie core. I tore it on all 4 sides, which reveals the white core. For added magic, I then embossed it with the So Swirly Embossing folder and used some fine grade sandpaper to sand over the surface and again reveal the white core. I actually used a sanding file, which has been in my crafty stash for years.
This Pumpkin Pie two-tone card is just one of the colours you can get in the Halloween Memories 12″ x 12″ Assortment pack
To decorate my card I used stamps and dies from the Potions & Spells bundle, as well as a freestyle witches hat. adored with some of the card I tore from the edge of my Pumpkin Pie mat.
Potions &Spells Bundle
This fun bundle features a photopolymer stamp set and coordinating. It provides you with everything a witch would need to brew her spells – a bubbling cauldron, potion bottles, spell books and there is of course her broom as well as a couple of favourite companions – her cat and bird.
For my card I stamped the pie of spell books twice on top of each other, coloured with Stampin’ Blends and fussy cut them. Then I also die cut the two potion bottles and the contents. I used a light Smoky Slate Stamin’ Blend to go around the edge of the bottles. These elements were then stuck onto a punched Basic black circle.
I love the detail in the die cut witches broom, which I cut from pecan Pie and Crumb Cake card. This was added to the card front, alongside my witch’s hat and the sentiment.
I coloured a few Iridescent foil gems with a Pumpkin Pie Stampin’ Blend before adding then, along with a Black twine bow to the card front.
Let’s Hop
I hope you have enjoyed my project. Do leave a comment if you can, because it certainly makes my day. Then it is time to hop around all the other projects’
