It has all been about the tulips this week and we have found some very different ways of using them throughout the week to add a touch of Spring to our lives.
Monday
This re-creation of a mini catalogue sample uses an interesting technique. The tulips were stamped off before stamping on the card to create a pale image. This image was filled in with an aqua pinter and ink. The finer details were added back into the tulips using Stampin’ write markers.
I loved the soft feel of this technique. If you want to see it being created, check out Monday’s live here:
Thursday
Thursday’s Cards went from Bright to Neutral.
This first card saw a garden full of tulips stamped on a large whisper white stitched rectangle. I then used 2 smaller rectangles to cut 2 panels from the middle of this card piece. Some slightly larger rectangles were cut from Granny Apple Green Card and then the card was layered up. This is the beauty of these layering dies. No measuring was required.
The second card had a much more vintage theme. Rococo Rose and Merry Merlot cardstock were added to papers from The Pressed petals Designer Series Paper. The tulip was stamped in Merry Merlot and Mossy Meadow. The edges of the paper was distressed using scissors and edges were all inked. The stitched label from the Sweetly Stitched Labels and some lace added to the vintage feel.
You can see both of Thursday’s cards coming together here:
