We are facing many challenges at the moment, so it was time for a fun one.

This time I have been inspired by the sketch over at TGIF Challenges.

My Card

As soon as I unwrapped the fabulous Flowering Foils Speciality Designer Series paper from the 2nd Release Sale-a-bration items, I fell in love. When I came to this paper with the grid effect on it, I knew it was just calling out to be coloured in. This challenge gave me the opportunity to have a play. I wanted it to have a soft overall look, so I took 3 Stampin’ Blends – Light Flirty Flamingo, Light Calypso Coral and Light So Saffron. I coloured in alternate squares, leaving a lot of white space.

For my lace border I used my, too neglected, Delicate Lace Border dies. Why do I not use these more? I cut the border in Calypso Coral Cardstock.

The greeting, from the “Forever Lovely” stamp set, was stamped in Flirty Flamingo ink on Whisper White card and punched out with the Tailored Tag punch. A second Tag in Calypso Coral was punched to create a border.

I cut some of the small flowers from one of the other designs of paper in the Flowering Foils pack and coloured them with the same blends. These were stuck to the greeting tag.

For embellishments I dived into the Follow Your Art embellishment kit -some calypso coral twine wound twice round the coloured panel and secured with a bow and a Calypso Coral felt heart tucked behind the raised tag sentiment. The border and coloured panel were adhered to a So Saffron card base.

The finishing touch was a sprinkling of sequins from the Iridescent Sequin Assortment.

Spread the Love

We all need to be reminded that we are loved and these soft ice-cream colours are perfect for spreading that message.
