I spent a delightful day yesterday with a lovely group of ladies creating a festive storm at My Saturday Stampers Christmas in July event

The attendees received a kit that included the Lots of Cheer stamp set, some Regals 6″ x 6″ DSP, ribbons, a pizza box and some elements from the Tags and More Accessory Kit

The lovely thing about the Lots of Cheer stamp set is the versatility of the stamps in it, Whether you want cute, contemporary or traditional, you can create them all with this stamp set.

I had created lots of samples to inspire the ladies. They chose which they would like to create – or even their own take on them.

My Samples Briefly Explained

The Wreath

With the wreath stamp:

  • Silver embossed on silver foil and a door created by cutting 2 stitched rectangles from the card and stuck back in place to form the panels.
  • Colour direct to stamp and spritz. Stamp randomly over sea foam card with a vellum overlay. Some torn paper and a circle topper.
  • White embossed on black card and painted with white craft ink. Background wreaths stamped in white ink.
  • Wreaths stamped using the hinged method on the Stamparatus and coloured with blends.

The Snowman

With the snowman stamp:

  • Coloured with Stampin’ Blends. Shimmery embossing paste added and glittery snowflakes from the Seasonal Layers die and hearts from the Dog punch.
  • Pillow Box with a crumb cake tag coloured with watercolour pencils
  • A small square black card with a snowman embossed with the subtle embossing folder and with paper pieced accessories. The snow was dotted on with frost white shimmer paint, More frost white paint was daubed onto the moon.
  • A post-it-note holder created by cutting a piece of Pacific Point card (8cm x 21cm) scored along the long side at 7cm, 8cm, 16cm, 17cm. The topper was watercoloured on shimmery white card with wink of stella on the snowman.
  • Coloured with Stampin’ Blends and cut with stitched rectangle. Snowflakes from Colorful Seasons stamp set embossed with white embossing powder, A fold back card created from a C6 card base.

The Baubles

With the Baubles stamp:

  • White embossed on watercolour paper and with a watercolour wash and sequins.
  • Stamped in real red ink, coloured with blends, die cut with stitched square and black scalloped square mat. A further real red mat embossed with scripty embossing folder,
  • Stamped with Stazon on Noble Peacock foil with a Noble Peacock Speciality DSP panel
  • 4 stitched ovals with baubles coloured with Blends. Border on top of card stamped with the pine leaves and pine cone from Winter Woods stamp set.
  • Bauble stamped on window sheet and heat embossed in black. Coloured with Blends then double sided adhesive sheet stuck to the back. Scrunch up a piece of tin foil and then flatten it out before adhering to back of adhesive sheet. Fussy cut bauble and use as topper on pizza box.

What a lot of Cards!

So many different ideas with this stamp set and so many others I’ve yet to try. A snowman shaker card? Making a taller snowman by cutting the boxes and stacking them higher?

It really felt as if we had kick started our festive crafting. But of course we will want to spend some more time having seasonal fun, especially with the upcoming launch of the Autumn /Winter Catalogue. So what next?
