The Silhouette Scene bundle has been available in the Annual Catalogue for nearly a year and last week I added it to my collection whilst it was still available as a bundle. I also took the opportunity to combine this current stamp set with some products that we will see in the new catalogue set to launch in June.
Banksy?
From the first time I saw the stamp set it reminded me of Banksy’s art work and so I wanted to create a Graffiti style card.
The branch and leaves come from a new stamp set called Birds and Branches. I used my stamparatus to stamp the images onto Whisper White card so I could build up a strong black colour. The girl on the swing was added swinging happily from the branch and who could resist including the inspirational sentiment. The card was then embossed with the Bricks and Mortar 3D Embossing Folder. I sponged the card with Gray Granite to make the bricks pop and add shading.
I love the simplicity of this card.
Strippy Technique
I had been using some of the new In-Color Designer Series Paper Stack to create little samples to go out with my catalogue. I had been left with some strips of the paper and so I was inspired to create a card using the strippy technique. This technique was first developed by Bruno Bertucci. Check out this gallery of projects for more inspiration.
Having created the colourful background, I die cut the dandelion silhouette and the greeting die from black card and positioned them on top. The black card pops against the patterned background. That new Magenta Madness in-color is a fabuolous bold colour and sits so nicely against the new Bumble Bee.
All of the new In-Colors are just gorgeous. It is going to be fun working with them for the next couple of years.
You can see both of these cards being created on this video:
Neither of these cards are complicated, but they both pack a punch.
Supplies
For any of the new items that I have used, we have to be patient for another couple of weeks. They will available on the 3rd June. If you are really keen to get them sooner, they can be added to a Starter Kit. If you would like to add any of the current goodies to your craft supplies and you are based in the UK, then find them listed below.
The new In-Colors will be available to customers on June 3rd. If you would like a catalogue then please request one and I would be delighted to pop you one in the post and to support you in your crafting hobby.
Stay safe and stay well.
