This month’s Blogging Friends Blog Hop has a theme of back to School. Here in the UK, there is a determination that all children should be able to return to school when the doors open in September. This is especially relevant to my family this year as my young Granddaughter is due to start school for the first time this year. There has been much excitement, planning and buying of uniform. Her new shiny shoes have arrived and she is all set. All we need is a confirmation of a start date.
My Project
It is unsurprising that my Granddaughter was my inspiration for today’s card.
Alphabet, numbers and an apple for the teacher all feature on my card.
For the Alphabet blocks, I cut the Playful Alphabet letters from the centre of the smallest stitched square in the stitched shapes die collection. I then cut another set of letters so I could replace the ones in the blocks with a different colour. The letters I took out of the blocks didn’t go to waste.
For the Apple, I stamped the images from the Harvest Hello stamp set. I then punched them out with the co-ordinating Apple Builder punch. Stampin’ Blends were used to colour them.
I wanted the card to have a backboard type feel to it (even though they are not used in schools these days!) This lovely sentiment from the “A grand Kid” stamp set was stamped in Whisper White Craft Ink onto Basic Black card. I used a White chalk marker to draw in a border. You needed to go over the lines a couple of times. I stamped some splodges from the “Beauty Abounds” stamp set onto the “blackboard” before adding die cut numbers.
The “blackboard” was mounted onto a mat of Mango Melody cardstock. This was then stuck to a Thick Whisper White card base.
What About the Letters?
I still had those leftover letters, so I used them on the inside of the card. Some more sentiments from the “A Grand Kid” stamp set were added. This set has been designed with grandchildren in mind.

Supplies.
I hope you have enjoyed my card. It will be making its way to my Granddaughter as her First Day at school approaches. Thank you for stopping by and I would love it if you keft me a comment.
Stay safe and stay well.
