Game On

It is Game On today as I take part in the Crafty Bog Hops Masculine themed share.

As the header would suggest, the theme of this blog hop was those, often tricky, masculine cards.

My Game On Project

We are really lucky to have a good selection of stamps that help us in creating cards for the men in our lives. My husband isn’t a sports fan and he doesn’t drink or enjoy cooking barbecues, but he does enjoy a board game or game of cards, so the Game On stamp set is a great set for him.

I decided I would team the “Game On” stamp set with the “In Good Taste” Designer Series Paper and throw in a touch of the “Textured Essentials” stamp set for good measure.

Project Instructions

I stamped the chess pieces, 2 hands of cards and the dice onto some Whisper White card.
The cards were stamped in Misty Moonlight and then sponged around the edges with Misty Moonlight.
The chess pieces were stamped in black and had some light shading added with a Daffodil Delight Water colour pencil.
The dice were stamped in black and coloured with red watercolour pencil.
I fussy cut all these pieces.
Onto a Whisper White stitched nested label, I stamped the texture stamp in Misty Moonlight and backed it with a larger Misty Moonlight label.
The game pieces were layered up on the label, using dimensionals on the chess pieces and dice.
The Misty moonlight card base had a 2 layers of the DSP added – the smaller one having some of the Denim ribbon wrapped around it.
The Stitched labels were added.
The greeting panel was punched with the classic label punch and a second label punched from Misty Moonlight and cut and exploded to form a mat. It was added with dimensionals.
Finishing touches – some ribbon knotted around and a few of the wooden crosses from the “In Good Taste Elements”

I love the extra textured feel you get on this card both from the papers and the “Textured Essentials” stamp set. The Denim ribbon is great for masculine projects and the wooden elements are great for adding extra detail with being blingy.
