Peaceful Boughs may not be new, but I love this stamp set. It is my first time joining the Stampin’ for Christmas blog hop and it has given me the perfect excuse to play with this stamp set again.
My Peaceful Boughs Project
For my card, I mounted both sizes of pine cone stamps onto a block and stamped randomly over a 12cm square of Very Vanilla card stock. I then tore along all 4 edges to give a distressed look and sponged the edges with Soft Suede ink. My distressed card was mounted onto a 12.3cm square of Soft Suede card, which in turn was mounted on a 5″ square Very Vanilla card base.
The Topper
For the topper, I stamped the largest pine bough in Mossy Meadow ink onto a stitched circle of Very Vanilla, which had been cut with the largest die from the Stitched Shapes set. I dragged the colour out on the pine bough with a blender pen. This circle was stuck to a large scalloped circle in Mossy Meadow.
I stamped one large and 2 small pine cones onto Very vanilla card, again dragged the colour out with a blender pen and then fussy cut them.
The greeting was stamped onto Very Vanilla card stock in Mossy Meadow ink and then I cut around the 2 words individually, before mounting onto Mossy Meadow card stock and cutting out again.
The 2 small pine cones were stuck directly to the cardstock, but the larger was mounted with dimensionals. Like wise the word “greetings was stuck down flat, whilst the “seasons” was lifted on dimensionals.
A swirl of braided linen trim was added behind the circle before it was attached with dimensionals onto the card front. The finishing touch was some gilded gems.
