My Blog Hop Project

For the hop, we take the products we have used in our tutorial bundle and create an alternative project to inspire you.

For my project I have created this arrow card using products from the gorgeous Snowflake Splendor Suite.

I have set my team a challenge this week to create a project inspired by the letter “A”, so this arrow card will also be an entry on my team group. It has been a while since I have used this fancy fold, so I am pleased to have been able to create this snowflake creation.

Arrow cards are really easy to create. You just need to cut a piece of standard card stock in half lengthwise, add some score lines and away you go.

Splendid Snowflakes Instructions

These are my rough sketches for metric A4 cardstock here in the UK. If you are using Letter Size Cardstock, you would cut it 4 1/4″ wide, score in half at 5 1/2″ and the two points you measure down the side would be 2″ and 4″ with the bottom central point being 2 1/8″.

You simply cut your cardstock, score it at the halfway point to give a card base. Next, using a pencil measure down on each side from the fold 5cm (2″) and 10cm (4″). You’ll also need to put a mark in the centre of the bottom edge at 5.25cm (2 1/8″). Score on both sides from the centre fold to the bottom centre point and then from the other two marks down to the centre point. Concertina your folds in and pop a spot of adhesive on the 2 overlapping pieces at the back to hold the shape.

The Designer Series paper is a 14.4cm x 10cm (5 1/4″ x 4″) piece. The bottom central point is marked – 5cm (2″). You simply cut from the top corners to the central point. This gives you the central triangular piece for the front of the card and two triangular side panels to stick on the inside of the card. If the Designer series paper works with your design, you could always flip these side panels and use the other side for contrast.

I finished my card by adding a flurry of white die cut snowflakes, a greeting, some of the snowflake splendor ribbon and some blue adhesive gems.
