Learn How To Create A Self-Closing Bag
This fun bag has been created using the gorgeous Ever Eden Specialty papers. These are available until the end of the year, or while stocks last. The combination of Soft Succulent, Evening Evergreen and gold foiling give these papers a real touch of opulance.
The bag (or box – you decide) is made from 1/2 a sheet of cardstock. I have added extra details using the dies from the Eden’s Garden bundle. This stamp and die bundle is an early release from the January-June 2022 mini catalogue.
Instructions
On this picture you can see the cut and score lines in both metric (black) and Imperial (red).
On the short side of your 14.9cm x 21cm (8 1/2″ x 5 1/2″ ) piece of card, score at 2.5cm and 12.4cm (1″ and 4 1/2″)
On the long side, score at 1cm, 11cm (1/2″, 4 1/2″) Then on the bottom of the bag add score lines at 6cm and 16cm ( 2 1/2″ and 6 1/2″) between the edge and the score line.
You’ll then need to add score lines to create the 2 “v” shapes.
To create the bag you will need to cut along the solid lines, cut off the shaded pieces and burnish all the score lines. You then stick it together along the side tab and fold in the bottom flaps and stick in place.
Watch Me Creating a Similar Bag
This video shows me creating a similar bag as part of a Lilypad Stamp Club that I recorded last year.
Decorating the Bag
To decorate my bag, I added sections of the fancy die cut border from the Eden’s garden dies to the top and Ever Eden DSP to the panels . The sentiment circles were both cut using the Tasteful Label Dies. The foliage in Evening Evergreen and Brushed Metallic foil were cut with the Eden Dies. Some more touches of gold were added with the shimmer ribbon and Gilded Gems
