I have created a floral heart card using masking to celebrate the launch of the latest Tutorial Bundle from the Creativity Abounds team.

A Floral Heart Card Using Masking

For this project I wanted to use colours that were very different from the Designer Series Paper

• Stamps: Hydrangea Haven
• Tools: Blending Brushes, Stitched Be Mine Dies, Stampin’ Blends (Poppy Parade, Mango Melody, Granny Apple Green
• Paper/Card: Poppy Parade; Granny Apple Green; Basic White
• Ink: Poppy Parade; Granny Apple Green; Memento
• Embellishments: Snail Mail Twine; Frosted & Clear Epoxy Droplets
• Adhesives; Multipurpose Liquid Glue; Glue Dots

Instructions

• Fold the card base in half on the score line. Stick the Granny Apple Green mat to the card base.
• Cut the largest plain stitched heart out of scrap paper to create a stencil/mask. Laying the paper down so you have the heart aperture in the centre of your Basic White mat, softly sponge some poppy parade ink around the edge of the aperture with a Blending brush.
• Covering up the sponged heart area with the die cut heart, stamp the flower stamp from the Hydrangea Haven set all around the edge of the heart with memento ink. Add in some leaves.
• Colour the flowers and leaves with Stampin’ Blends.
• Stamp the sentiment in the centre of the heart.Blend around the edges of this mat with a blending Brush and Granny Apple Green ink. Stick the mat to the card base.
• Embellish with a white twine bow and some clear epoxy droplets.
• Add the Basic White insert to the inside of the card.
