It is time for a new Festive Friday Challenge and I have created a Get Well Gift Bag
The theme for this new challenge #FF0083 is International Nursing Day, so I thought it would be a nice idea to create a little bag that you could use to send a little treat to someone who is having a bad day. Switch up the sentiment and you could use it as a thank you for a nurse you know. they have all had a tough year and it is good to show our appreciation.
As always I used the Inspo list to inspire my project.
The Inspo List is 10 items you can choose from to create your project in our card making and paper crafting challenge. Incorporate THREE of the items in your project and link up! And guess what? Your project doesn’t have to be about the theme at all! The selected festivity is just a unique way to come up with a fun and interesting inspiration list!
My project used: get well, blue, gift bag, stitching.
My Project
This little bag used patterned paper from the Well Suited Designer Series pack, ribbon from the Boho Indigo Medley Product suite, dies from the Hippo & Friend dies, a sentiment from Back on Your Feet, some fussy cutting and some pearls.
I cut a piece of DSP measuring 5″ x 10 1/2″, scored at 1″/ 5″/ 6″ and 10″ on the long side and then 1″ on the short side (ensuring it is at the bottom if your patterned paper is directional. The bag is fairly straightforward:
- cut up along the score lines at the bottom until they meet the horizontal score line (these are the flaps for the bottom of the bag.
- Create a tab for the bag by cutting off the bottom section of the 1/2″ strip and tapering the two ends of the resulting tab slightly.
- Stick the bag together by placing adhesive on the 1/2″ tab and the bottom flaps.
- Pinch the bag together at the top and run your finger along both sides to create the shape.
- I used the large label from the Hippo dies, folded in half lengthways, to create my flap .
