For this month’s Casually Crafting Blog hop, I have designed Easter cards using a sketch challenge.
The idea behind this blog hop is to show that you can create beautiful cards even if you don’t have lots of equipment. These cards are great for crafters who are just starting out, but even avid crafters will love to try these designs.
Easter Cards Using A Sketch Challenge
For this month’s blog hop, we are creating cards using a sketch challenge. I always enjoy using sketches to spark my creativity when designing projects. You don’t have to be too prescriptive when interpreting sketches. You can change the shape of elements in the sketch and even change the orientation.
For my Easter cards, I used the Easter Bunny stamp set and coordinating punch from the January-April Mini Catalogue. These were used alongside papers from the Dandy Designs Designer Series paper, which is an option from the Sale-a-Bration brochure if you place a £90 order or more. I raided a couple more punches from my collection to create the centre pieces of my cards.
Bunny with Eggs
This little grey bunny uses the sketch fairly literally. The combination of spots, stripes and crosses in the paper give a vibrant background. Instead of a circle in the centre, I used some punched hearts and the bunny and some Easter eggs were layered on the top, along with a sentiment and bow of white twine.
Bunny With Carrot
This second card turned the sketch around and used a mixture of papers with yellow, pink and coral colours. The centre of this card was created with some layered “Label Me Lovely” punched labels, layered up.
This bunny was fussy cut and a slit cut in his paws with a craft knife. The carrot was slotted through the slits so the bunny looks like he is clutching the carrot. Some fussy cut flowers were added at his feet. The sentiment was fussy cut and added to the card front.

Let’s Hop
I hope you have enjoyed my project. Do leave a comment if you can, because it certainly makes my day. Then it is time to hop around all the other projects
How Can I Help?
I can’t wait to see how all the other demonstrators have interpreted this sketch. One sketch can produce such different looking cards.
Don’t hesitate to get in touch if I can help with your purchases, or if you have a crafty question.
Meanwhile stay safe and stay well
