This post features two techniques for using Decorative masks. The Adorning Designs Decorative Masks from the Gingerbread & Peppermint Suite from Stampin’ Up, have been used, alongside coordinating products from the collection.
These masks are an affordable addition to your crafty stash. They are so useful for adding an additional element to your design. In these cards we have combined the masks with Embossing Paste and with ink.
The Two Techniques For Using Decorative Masks
This first card uses the masks, along with some Old Olive ink and a sponge dauber. They created the decorative border on the bottom of the scalloped rectangle. By using masking with tape and post-it-notes, I was able to use a specific area of the decorative mask on my project.
The cute mittens on this card were fussy cut from the Gingerbread & Peppermint Designer Series Paper. White heat embossing on the sentiment tied it in with the white decoration on the mittens.
This second card used embossing paste together with kraft card to create the textured snowflake background. The snowflake toppers again came from the Designer Series Paper. This time, however, I was able to die cut them with the coordinating die. The gorgeous mini ruffled ribbon is also a part of the Gingerbread & peppermint suite.
