Create A Hanging Plaque with Poppies
This is the second of my projects this week to feature poppies. Remembrance Day is on the 11th November, so they are a fitting focus as we commemorate this.
I love poppies. This Poppy Moments die set is one of those that will never find its way into a box of retired items to sell. It is definitely a keeper for me.
Instructions
I have cut the solid poppy piece in Real Red and the detailed overlay in Cherry Cobbler. The leaves are a combination of Garden Green and Mossy Meadow.
Firstly, I have taken a piece of 6″ x 4″ chip board. It is covered with “In Good Taste” Designer Series Paper. The paper measured 8″ x 6″. The corners were snipped off and folded around the chip board. A loop of ribbon was then attached to the back with tape. Finally I covered the back with another piece of Designer series Paper, measuring 4″ x 6″.
For the front I used the Ornate Layers dies to cut a large black frame and a smaller frame from the Designer Series paper.
The sentiment came from the Queen Anne’s lace Stamps set. It was stamped onto this paper frame before layering the frames upon the plaque. The poppies and leaves were arranged in the bottom left corner. The piece was finished with some red sequins and a bow of gingham ribbon.
Let’s Hop
I hope you have enjoyed my project. Do leave a comment if you can, because it certainly makes my day. Then it is time to hop around all the other projects
How Can I Help?
I hope you have enjoyed my Home Decor project. Last year I created a Remembrance wreath with these dies. They are such bold and detailed dies.
