I have been creating rainbow themed cards and I want to share them for this month’s Blogging Friends Blog Hop.
The theme for this month’s blog hop is Island Vibes, Rainbows and Otters Oh My!
We are focusing on some of the fabulous products that are available in the new Sale-a-Bration brochure. These “money can’t buy” items can be earned when you place a qualifying order. Here in the UK that is £45 or more.
My Rainbow Themed Card
This project showcases the Sunshine & Rainbows Designer Series Paper. This bright, fun pack of 6″ x 6″ paper coordinates with the Rainbow of Happiness Bundle from the new January-June mini catalogue, as well as the fun Cloud Punch which is also new.
Measurements
A4 Metric | Letter Size Imperial | |
Thick Basic White Card base | 10.5cm x 29.7cm Scored at 14.9cm on the long side. | 4 1/4″ x 11″ Scored at 5 1/2″ on the long side. |
DSP | 14.4cm x 10cm | 5 1/4″ x 4“ |
DSP | 14.4cm x 2cm | 5 1/4″ x 3/4″ |
Basic White | 9.2m x 9cm | 3 5/8″ x 3 1/2″ |
Instructions
- Fold along the score line to create card base
- Stick the DSP mat to the card base and add the narrow strip of coordinating DSP on the top.
- Take the mat of Basic White cardstock and using the Brilliant Rainbow dies cut the Rainbow border along the top edge. Snip off the outer rainbows.
- Using the Rainbow of Happiness stamp set, stamp the rainbow with the over arching sentiment. Add the shadow stamp under the rainbow and some hearts. I used Pool Party, So Saffron, Soft Sea Foam and Petal Pink, which are all colours featured in the paper.
- Add a length of the Petal Pink ribbon across the bottom of the DSP strip, before adding the stamped panel with Dimensionals.
- Add a Pool Party bow and Playing with Patterns resin dots.
These papers are a must have. There are rainbows and clouds of course, but also subtle backgrounds and bright stripes. You will find them so useful for so many projects.
Another Rainbow Themed Card
On a Live before Christmas I also created a second card which didn’t feature the papers which I thought I would give you a sneak peek of.
I created a bright striped background with Stampin’ Blends and used the rainbow die to cut the rainbow apertures from the front panel.
Creating Rainbow Themed Cards
You can see both of these cards on this recording of my Live
Let’s Hop
I hope you have enjoyed my project. Do leave a comment if you can, because it certainly makes my day. Then it is time to hop around all the other projects
How Can I Help?
The Rainbow of Happiness Bundle and the Sunshine and Rainbows Designer Series paper obviously go hand in hand. Stampin’ Up! has made a video highlighting the coordination.
The bundle doesn’t quite reach the qualifying amount to earn the paper, but just add in some adhesive, embellishments or what about that cloud punch?
Don’t hesitate to get in touch if I can help with your purchases, or if you have a crafty question.
Meanwhile stay safe and stay well

Love the rainbows, cant wait to be able to get the DSP
I think that one of these cards should be sitting in the pot of gold at the end of the rainbow!
My favourite DSP from the new Sale-a-bration brochure. Great cards. Lx
