For this month’s Casually Crafting Blog hop, I have been card making with patterned papers.
The idea behind this blog hop is to show that you can create beautiful cards even if you don’t have lots of equipment. These beautiful cards are great for crafters who are just starting out, but even avid crafters will love to try these designs.
For this month’s blog we have been getting our inspiration from a card sketch.
I decided to have a play with the new Abstract Beauty Specialty Designer Series Paper pack. This pack of bright, foiled paper is unusual because it is cut into 6″ x 4″ pieces. This is a great size for cardmaking and really encourages experimenting with mixing and matching.

Instructions
- Fold the card along the score line to create the card base.
- Stick the Layer 1 DSP to the card base. Attach a length of Denim ribbon to the bottom edge of Layer 2 DSP and stick to the card front.
- Take the square layer 3 DSP and cut in half on the diagonal. Stick one half to the card front and trim off the top and bottom.
- Stamp the sentiment on a strip of Basic White card with Night of Navy ink and back with Night of Navy cardstock. Add to the card front with dimensionals. Fussy cut some flowers from the patterned paper and stick around the sentiment, raising some up with dimensionals.
- Add a bow of gold thread and some gold sequins.
- Stick the Basic White mat to the inside of the card with liquid adhesive. Stick the other half of the square of Designer Series paper to the right side of the card insert
Let’s Hop

How Can I Help?
This paper is only one element from the Abstract Beauty Suite. The suite features bright colours and lots of shaped stamps and dies. It is really a collection to play with and experiment with.
