My post today is sharing my simply elegant upcycled notebook that I have created for this blog hop.
The idea behind this latest Blog Hop from the Crafty Collaborations group is sharing ideas to eliminate waste in our crafting. It is important that crafters have this conversation and look for ways to use our resources wisely, whilst still enjoying our creativity.
I decided to make use of one of the sheets of board I have kept from the packs of Designer Series paper. I often use this board for crafting projects, including Home Décor plaques and Memory Keeping projects. This time I used the board to create my covers on a simple notebook.
My Simply Elegant Upcycled Notebook
My notebook is decorated with Simply Elegant Specialty Designer Series paper. The opulence of this foiled paper disguises the notebook’s humble beginnings.
The front and back covers both measure 15cm x 11cm. The Designer Series paper was then cut to 18cm x 14cm. The board cover was stuck to the centre of the Designer Series Paper, the corners trimmed off and then the edges folded over and stuck to the back.
A piece of 14.5cm x 10cm Black card stock was stuck to the back side of the cover.
To decorate the front, a panel was firstly cut with the Ornate Frames dies in Basic Black card stock. Some flowers were then cut from the Designer Series paper to decorate these panels. Finally, some copper coloured Brushed Metallics Dots were added.
I cut pages from white copier paper. I used some rings to bind my notebook and then tied some ribbon around the rings. Of course, if you don’t have rings, you could bind your notebook with ribbon.
Let’s Hop
I hope you have enjoyed my project. Do leave a comment if you can, because it certainly makes my day. Then it is time to hop around all the other projects
