Paper Piercing with Vellum

I have been paper piercing with vellum using my Take-a-Pick tool for this blog hop.

In this latest Blog Hop from the Crafty Collaborations group, you will find lots of fun ideas for techniques for the Take Your Pick Tool. This essential double ended item has a piercing tool, embossing tools, a spatula and a sticky putty end. You can also get the additional brush tip. I had to have two, so I can keep my favourite tools to hand at all time.

For my project I combined the piercing tool with some of the In Color Shimmer Vellum.

My Paper Piercing with Vellum Project

I took a square of the Soft Succulent Shimmer Vellum and laid it on my piercing mat. Using a metal edged ruler, I pierced rows of holes in the vellum. I did rows on the diagonals, centrally on the horizontal and vertical and finally between the points:

North – West
West – South
South-East
East-North

I then used the Poppy Dies to cut flowers and leaves from the Shimmer vellum, with the detailed pieces being cut in coordinating cardstock. I also cut a frame from some Evening Evergreen cardstock.

The sentiment on the label was from the Peaceful Moments stamp set. These elements were all placed on the pierced vellum and then I was able to add adhesive behind these elements on the back of the Vellum to attach it to an Evening evergreen card base.

To finish I added a bow of Evening Evergreen Windowpane Ribbon.
