Today’s post shows an idea for using alphabet stamp sets to create words on cards.
This is my Design Team Project for the new Festive Friday Challenge that launches today. The Festivity we are celebrating this time is Grandparents Day. This happens on 11th September in some parts of the world, but not until October 2nd here in the UK. The design team were inspired by Grandparents Day to put together a list of things to inspire you to get creative.
The Inspo List is 10 items you can choose from to create your project in our card making and paper crafting challenge. Incorporate THREE of the items in your project and link up! And guess what? Your project doesn’t have to be about the theme at all! The selected festivity is just a unique way to come up with a fun and interesting inspiration list!
My project used: fancy fold; hugs; hearts; knitting; pearls
Using Alphabet Stamp Sets
I used the fabulous Alphabest bundle to create my “hugs.” I love that alphabet stamp sets give you the ability to customise your projects in any way you like. Whether that is specific words , or to add names and personalisation. This great bundle with its coordinating punch is just fab. It is also great for scrapbook layouts.
It’s All In The Detail
This Z fold card was created in Thick Basic White cardstock. The larger Z fold is 10″ x 5″, or 12.5cm x 25cm. The smaller one is 3 3/8″ x 6 3/4″ or 8.5cm x 17cm.
Mats of Gray Granite cardstock were added. The two larger pieces were embossed with the Quatrefoil Tile Embossing Folder. The front also has a mat of Gray Granite Designer Series Paper from the Sun Prints pack.
The letters were all heat embossed in white onto Gray Granite cardstock and added to the card front with dimensionals. The ball of knitting was created by winding up some unravelled White Frayed ribbon. For the needles, I cut a cocktail stick in half and added a blob of Black Pearlized Enamel Effects to the top of the two cut ends. Once dry, I tucked them into the “ball of wool”
The card was finished with some Heart Pearls.
Let’s Hop
I hope you have enjoyed my project. Do leave a comment if you can, because it certainly makes my day. Then it is time to hop around all the other projects

How Can I Help?
This was a fun little project to make. It is always fun to think outside the box a little to create just the elements you want for a project, when you don’t have something obvious to hand.
I hope the Design Team’s creations have inspired you to join in this month’s Festive Friday Challenge. We can’t wait to see what you create.
Don’t hesitate to get in touch if I can help with your purchases, or if you have a crafty question.
Meanwhile stay safe and stay well

You had me at the knitting needles along with the other sweet details like the hearts and hug! Awesome card, Helen! 🙂
The knitting needles and yarn are fantastic! Love how you made the needles, so clever! Your card is so pretty.
Wow! Wow! Wow! This card is amazing, Helen! In addition to being such a lovely card, filled with texture and beautiful paper, you have taken it up to a whole other level with the addition of the “yarn” and knitting needles. You are so talented and clever!
Helen, incredible. I love all that luscious texture and yarn and needles… WOW.
