Today I am sharing a wax resist technique with an embossing folder for this month’s Tech 4 Stampers Academy Blog Hop.
We are a group of Demonstrators, led by Louise, seeking to learn, implement and improve our use of technology and online resources in our businesses.
The theme of this month’s hop is using a favourite technique. I chose to use the Leaf Fall 3D embossing folder and this wax resist technique.
A Wax Resist Technique with an Embossing Folder.
This subtle background has been created by embossing some wax paper with the Leaf Fall 3D embossing folder and then laying it face down on some Basic White card and ironing it. This melts the wax on the embossed paper and leaves a pattern on the card. When ink is blended over the top, the wax pattern resists the ink.
I used autumnal coloured inks and Blending Brushes to add colour to the mat of card.
- Pumpkin Pie
- Old Olive
- Crushed Curry
- Cherry Cobbler
The sentiment was added to a leaf label and embossed with gold. This leaf was then paired with another label and tied together with Linen Thread.
The leaf patterned card was adhered to some Pumpkin Pie Designer Series Paper from the Gingham Cottage pack. These.layers were stuck to a 14.9cm square Thick Basic White card base.
Some Amber Gems were added as a finishing touch.
