I have been using the emboss resist technique in cardmaking to create today’s project for the Stamping With Friends blog hop.
This hop is using the Emboss Resist Technique as its theme, so you will see variety of ideas from demonstrators around the world.
My Project
For my project I decided to use the new Seaside Bay Bundle to create this sympathy card.
I started by stamping the seashell and sand image across the bottom of a piece of Basic White card and heat embossed it in clear ink. Using a blending brush, I added Sahara Sand ink over the top of the embossing and the images popped from the background. I took the Sahara Sand colour about half way up the card. Next, I added a band of Balmy Blue ink . I didn’t take this right to the top of the card, and left a space for the sentiment.
The sentiment and trio of birds were stamped with Basic Gray ink and the swirl of dots with Balmy Blue
To finish the card front, I die cut some grasses from Soft Succulent card stock and some shells from Pearlescent Speciality paper. A swirl of silver thread was layered with the die cuts.
The side opening card base was Sahara Sand. I added a mat of Basic Gray and then stuck the card front in place.
Some more shells were stamped on the Basic White insert, but this time in Sahara Sand
Let’s Hop
How Can I Help?
Emboss Resist is such a good technique and of course you can use any colour embossing powder to achieve the effect. Are you going to have a play?
Don’t hesitate to get in touch if I can help with your purchases, or if you have a crafty question.
Meanwhile stay safe and stay well
