For my project today I have been using vellum as a frame in card making. This pretty pink hedgehog card is my Design team contribution to the new Festive Friday Challenge.
The theme for this new challenge is International Fairy Day which is happening on June 24th. This gives us the perfect excuse to get pink and sparkly and this is reflected in the Inspo list that the Design Team put together.
The Inspo List is 10 items you can choose from to create your project in our card making and paper crafting challenge. Incorporate THREE of the items in your project and link up! And guess what? Your project doesn’t have to be about the theme at all! The selected festivity is just a unique way to come up with a fun and interesting inspiration list!
My project used: pink, silver, sparkle, flower embellishments, masks, toadstool, vellum
Using Vellum As A Frame in Card Making
To create this card I used the Happy Hedgehog stamp set and coordinating punch. It was combined with the Radiating Stitches die and the Artistic Mix Decorative masks to build up the layers.
You can see a full list of the products I have used at the end of the post, including links to my online shop.
A Cute Hedgehog
The mask was used with a blending brush and some Berry Burst ink to create the Bubble Bath layer.
The toadstools and butterfly were stamped onto a radiating stitches rectangle and were coloured with Stampin’ Write markers.
The vellum frame was created by layering 2 radiating stitches dies together. The inner rectangle can be saved for another project. A small dot of adhesive was placed on the 4 corners. The radiating detail on the frame disguises the adhesive.
The hedgehog, also coloured with Stampin’ Write markers, was punched out and raised up on dimensionals.
Some of the little loose daisy embellishments were added to the bottom 2 corners of the frame. The sentiment came in across the top right corner.
To add some additional sparkle, Wink of Stella was added to the toadstools, butterfly and hedgehog and some Wink of Stella splatters were added to the background.
A couple of little of butterflies were stamped inside alongside the sentiment.
Let’s Hop
