I have been creating some garden themed cards and I am now sharing them in this blog post today.
The Stamping With Friends Blog Hop is a monthly hop brought to you by Demonstrators around the world. This month the theme is “Blogger’s Choice”.
We are enjoying some lovely weather here in the UK at the moment as I write this, although thunderstorms are forecast soon. The garden is undoubtedly the best place to be to enjoy the summer sunshine. Pottering around among the flower beds with butterflies dancing, bees buzzing while the sound of neighbours mowing their lawns drifts in.
To create these cards I have used the Garden Meadow Bundle and also the coordinating papers from the Meandering Meadow Suite. These products can be found in the Online Exclusives.
You can see a full list of the products I have used at the end of the post, including links to my online shop.
Creating Garden Themed Cards
For this card, a blue sky and green grass was firstly blended onto a Very Vanilla mat to create a background. The gate was then stamped in Pecan Pie ink and the colour dragged out with a Blender Pen. The wheelbarrow, watering can and flowers were all stamped in Saddle Brown Stazon ink. The images were then all coloured with watercolor pencils and die cut with the coordinating dies.
Lastly the sentiment was added with Night of Navy ink and some brass birds were placed in the sky.
Finally, this decorated mat was added to a Night of Navy card base and some Linen thread tied around the spine.
The second card uses a Pecan Pie card base. A mat of the gorgeous Designer Series Paper from The Meandering Meadow pack is added. Finally a mat of Pecan Pie that has had a window shaped aperture cut into it.
A Pair of wellies, some garden tool and a trug of flowers are stamped in memento ink onto Basic White card and coloured with Stampin’ Blends. These are added to the bottom of the window.
The sentiment is stamped in Pecan Pie onto Basic White card, backed with Pecan Pie card and then a bow of linen thread is added to the reverse before the sentiment is placed on the card front.
A fed more brass birds are used to complete the card.
