Layering Up Patterned Papers

For my project today I have been layering up patterned papers to create a background for my cute dinosaur. This project is my card for this month’s Product Insta Hop.

Each month Demonstrators from the Crafty Collaborations Community take part in a Product Insta Hop over on Instagram. Each month we will explore product from different areas of Stampin’ Up1’s® product line. A different product is chosen and the participants use it to create their project.

The theme this month is Mini Catalogue and/or Sale-a-Bration and I can’t wait to see all the other ideas that my fellow demonstrators have come up with

I have gone for the “and” option and have created a project using the Darling Dinos bundle from the mini Catalogue and combined it with Toadstool Garden papers from Sale-a-Bration.

Layering Up Patterned Papers

The card base is Thick Basic White and it has a mat of Soft Sea Foam card on it. To this base I have built up layers of three different patterned papers from the Toadstool Garden pack. The leafy pattern has been torn across the top edge and the criss-cross patterned Melon Mambo paper has been given a banner end.

Onto this layered background I have added a rounded rectangle from the Nested Essentials dies that I have stamped with tone on tone blobs. Onto this I have then added a punched a Fresh Freesia circle. Standing proudly in front of that is our happy Melon Mambo dinosaur, die cut and raised up with dimensionals. They were coloured with Stampin’ Blends – Melon Mambo body, Pumpkin Pie stripes and Soft Sea Foam toe nails (although they are hiding behind the bushes). They are surrounded by Soft Sea foam die cut bushes.

The sentiment is stamped partly in Pumpkin Pie and partly in Melon Mambo ink.

Finishing touches are finally added with die cut Melon Mambo hearts and a bow of white twine.
