A Parrot Themed Love Card

For today’s post I have created a parrot themed love card using the Feathered fun Stamp set from Stampin’ Up!

This card is my contribution to the Design Team’s selection for the latest Festive Friday Challenge, which is celebrating Talk Like a Pirate Day.

We have used this occasion to come up with a list of elements that we call our Inspo List.

The Inspo List is 10 items you can choose from to create your project in our card making and paper crafting challenge. Incorporate THREE of the items in your project and link up! And guess what? Your project doesn’t have to be about the theme at all! The selected festivity is just a unique way to come up with a fun and interesting inspiration list!

My project used: black, red, white, twine, parrot

A Parrot Themed Love Card

This Basic Black card base has a Poppy Parade layer that has been embossed with the gorgeous Sunflower 3D Embossing Folder. Arches have been cut in Basic Black, poppy Parade and Basic White. The Basic White layer has had Petal Pink ink blended onto the background and Poppy Parade hearts stamped over it, Having layered up the arches, some Red & White twine has been wound round them and tied in a bow and then the arches have been added to the card front.

This pair of parrots from the Feathered Fun Stamp Set were coloured with Stampin’ Blends – Poppy Parade, Daffodil Delight and Shy Shamrock, plus a little Pumpkin Pie and Gray Granite for beaks and feet. Having fussy cut them out, they were then added to the card front with dimensionals. The sentiment was take from the Unbounded Love stamp set.

Of course a black card needs an insert and I added some more Red Hearts to my Basic White mat inside the card.
