Creating an Embossed Lace Effect on a Card With A Doily

For today’s post I have created

This card is my contribution to the Design Team’s selection for the latest Festive Friday Challenge, which is celebrating World Marriage Day.

We have used this occasion to come up with a list of elements that we call our Inspo List.

The Inspo List is 10 items you can choose from to create your project in our card making and paper crafting challenge. Incorporate THREE of the items in your project and link up! And guess what? Your project doesn’t have to be about the theme at all! The selected festivity is just a unique way to come up with a fun and interesting inspiration list!

My project used: White, Silver, Rhinestones, Lace, Heat Embossing, Wedding Sentiment

Creating an Embossed Lace Effect on a Card With A Doily

This card uses the beautiful rose image from the Gallery Blooms stamp set, which has been heat embossed in silver. The colouring is using really soft pastels – Petal Pink and Soft Sea Foam..

This image has been added to a Basic White mat, which I have ink blended with Petal Pink. I have matted this onto some silver glimmer paper.

To create a lace effect in the background, I took a doily and pressed Versamark ink over the holes onto Vellum. I then heat embossed it with white and shaped around the edge.

I only had a large doily, a smaller one would probably have been even more effective.

The sentiment was for a wedding day and comes from the Lifetime of Love stamp set.

I finished the card with a bow of white twine and some rhinestones.
