A splash of colour, a little floral inspiration and a first look at November’s Suite Spotlight Club!

After a month filled with Christmas crafting, I thought it would be rather lovely to have a change of scenery for this week’s Live from the Lilypad.
Don’t get me wrong, I absolutely love making Christmas cards, but sometimes it’s refreshing to put the festive colours aside and enjoy something completely different!
So, this week I reached for the beautiful Mosaic Garden Suite Collection from Stampin’ Up!, which includes the Tile Garden Bundle.
This is also the suite we’re featuring in my November Suite Spotlight Club, so it was the perfect opportunity to introduce the products, explore the gorgeous papers and have a little play!
And I managed to create two very different cards along the way.
A Closer Look at the Mosaic Garden Suite
One of the things I love about this suite is the combination of pretty floral images and intricate geometric designs.
The Tile Garden Stamp Set contains some lovely flower and foliage images with a slightly textured, almost linen-like appearance when stamped. It’s a beautiful effect that comes from the stamps themselves, without needing any special techniques.
The coordinating Tile Garden Dies are rather fabulous too!
If you already love the Spotlight on Nature Dies, I think you’ll particularly enjoy these. They have similar decorative details, but this time in square shapes.
And, of course, squares don’t have to stay squares — turn them on their points and you’ve got diamonds!
The suite also includes gorgeous patterned papers, glossy embellishments and Hydrangea Hue bordered ribbon.
The coordinating colours are:
- Crisp Cantaloupe
- Crushed Curry
- Hydrangea Hue
- Old Olive
- Pretty Peacock
It’s a beautiful combination that works equally well for cheerful spring-inspired projects and more elegant, sophisticated designs.
Card One – Pretty Peacock Floral Diamond

For my first project, I decided to let one of the gorgeous Pretty Peacock patterned papers take centre stage.
I started with a Basic White card base and added a Pretty Peacock cardstock mat measuring 10 cm × 14.4 cm, followed by a piece of patterned paper measuring 9.5 cm × 13.9 cm.
Then came those lovely Tile Garden Dies!
I die-cut two decorative squares, one from Pretty Peacock cardstock and a smaller one from Basic White.
A little money-saving tip: I cut the larger Pretty Peacock square from the centre of the cardstock mat. Once the patterned paper is adhered over the top, nobody knows there’s a hole underneath! It’s a great way to make your cardstock go further.
For the focal flower, I inked the stamp in Crushed Curry before adding a little Crisp Cantaloupe around the tips of the petals using a sponge dauber.
This created a lovely two-tone effect.
I stamped the stem and leaves in Pretty Peacock, then layered the two squares together and turned them into diamonds on the card front.
The sentiment, Wishing You Every Good Thing, was also stamped in Pretty Peacock and matted onto matching cardstock.
A little white twine bow and some Crisp Cantaloupe glossy dots finished everything off beautifully.
I also stamped a coordinating flower inside the card. After all, why should the outside have all the fun?
Card Two – Crisp Cantaloupe Triple Diamond

For my second card, I wanted something completely different.
This time, I chose a landscape Crisp Cantaloupe card base and one of the beautiful multicoloured Mosaic Garden papers.
The patterned paper measures 10 cm × 14.4 cm.
To break up the pattern and provide a home for my stamped images, I cut a strip of Crisp Cantaloupe cardstock measuring 5 cm × 14.4 cm.
I then used the Borders in Beauty Dies to create a delicate decorative edge along both sides.
These border dies are so versatile because you can extend the design to suit different projects, including scrapbook pages.
Next, I cut three matching decorative squares from Basic White cardstock using the Tile Garden Dies.
Two squares feature Crisp Cantaloupe flowers with Crushed Curry centres and Old Olive foliage.
For the middle square, I used the lovely sentiment:
My Life Is Amazing Because It Includes You.
I arranged all three squares as diamonds across the decorative strip, using Stampin’ Dimensionals for a little extra depth.
A few glossy garden dots added the finishing touches.
Because I’d used coloured cardstock for the card base, I also added a Basic White insert measuring 9.5 cm × 13.9 cm, decorated with a little coordinating stamping.
I love how the three diamonds work together to create such an eye-catching design!

How Can I Help

TAs I was making these cards, the weather outside my craft room was turning rather grey and rainy.
But inside we had flowers, lovely colours and a good bit of crafting!
And that’s one of the things I love about papercrafting. It doesn’t matter what the weather is doing outside — we can always create a little sunshine at our craft tables.
Don’t hesitate to get in touch if I can help with your purchases, or if you have a crafty question.
Meanwhile stay safe and stay well
