Two of my lovely customers have recently had to have operations, that have left them out of action in the short term, but will hopefully have great long term benefits in terms of their mobility and comfort.
I wanted to send them both a card to let them know I was thinking of them and the cute “” Back on Your Feet” stamp set seemed to fit the bill perfectly.
Armed with this sketch from The Global Design Project Challenge, I set about creating a bright and cheerful card.
The Card
I stamped the sloth in memento ink and then coloured him in with Stampin’ Blends. I love all the shading and different tones you can achieve with these pens. Armed with my paper snips, I then fussy cut the sloth, including those long claws.
Because I wanted to add a taste of the tropics, I stamped the flowers and leaf from the Tropical Chic stamp set onto Whisper White card using Melon Mambo and Granny Apple Green ink. I then used the co-ordinating dies to cut them out. I also cut the fern shaped leaf from a piece of vellum.
The sentiment was stamped onto whisper white card and then die cut with the stitched nesting labels. a second label was cut from Crumb Cake card.
I used the long stitched die from the same set to add stitching to the top and bottom of a strip of melon mambo card.
The card was then assembled:
- The strip of melon mambo stuck on the whisper white mat (measuring 13.9cm x 9.5cm)
- The whisper white mat stuck onto a Melon Mambo mat (measuring 14.4cm x 10cm)
- A length of Whisper White twine wrapped around these 2 layers and tied with a bow,
- These layers adhered to a Thick Whisper White card base (A4 card cut at 14.9cm and scored at 10.5cm).
- The two labels stuck on top of each other and adhered to card front with dimensionals
- The sloth attached using dimensionals along the top and tombow along the bottom, to the top left of the labels.
- The flowers and leaves stuck in place with tombow along the bottom right of the labels.
- Finished with some small pearls that have been coloured with the Dark Granny Green Stampin’ Blend
