Tucked away on page 65 of the new January – June mini catalogue is a new set of masks. The Butterflies & Flowers layering Decorative Masks is a set of 6 masks that combine the features of the other masks sets we have seen from Stampin’ up!, but with some cool new elements.
Three of the masks feature a background pattern. The flowers and leaves featured on these masks will be great for creating complete background mats, but are also fabulous for adding small elements to cards and scrapbook pages.
The other three masks are made up of smaller images that you can use as focal points on your projects as well as smaller accents.
There are coordinating pairs of images that mean you are able to build colour up on top of each other to create detailed images of flowers and butterflies. There is a rose arrangement and a large butterfly as well as a series of smaller flowers and leaves.
Using the Layering Decorative Masks
These masks work hand in hand with all of our colouring tools.
- Add ink with sponge daubers or blending brushes.
- They are perfect to use with the soft pastels collection.
- You can build up colour with Stampin’ Blends , Stampin’ Write markers or watercolour pencils.
- Create Zentangle style patterns in the open images with a Black Stampin’ Write marker or watercolour pencil.
- Use ink refills to spritz or watercolour through the masks
And of course we mustn’t forget the embossing pastes. The paste can be tinted with drops of ink if you don’t want it to be white.
Make sure you don’t overlook this collection. They provide value for money and are suitable for all levels of crafters.
