Todays blog post is demonstrating using torn paper flowers on a card.
This card is my contribution to the Design Team’s selection for the latest Festive Friday Challenge, which is celebrating World Collage Day, that is coming up on May 11th.
We have used this occasion to come up with a list of elements that we call our Inspo List.
The Inspo List is 10 items you can choose from to create your project in our card making and paper crafting challenge. Incorporate THREE of the items in your project and link up! And guess what? Your project doesn’t have to be about the theme at all! The selected festivity is just a unique way to come up with a fun and interesting inspiration list!
My project used: pink, metallic elements, jute, paper tearing, flowers, birthday sentiment.
Using Torn Paper Flowers on a Card
Both the flowers and the background have been created with the Masterfully Made Designer Series paper. This pack is retiring and is in the Last Chance section of the online store with a discount. The background paper features this torn detail – perfect for those people who love the look. but can’t bear to tear the paper!
The flowers were created by punching 2″ and 1 3/4″ circles from Designer series paper and then tearing them into a spiral. The spiral is rolled up to create the rose and is then secured in place with adhesive. You can use multipurpose adhesive if you use a good amount and hold it in place until it holds, but this is one occasion when a hot glue gun makes the job easier!
The flowers were accompanied by Pretty Peacock and Gold Foil foliage punched with the Bough Punch and a flourish of the Natural Wavy Trim. This trim is also retiring.
A birthday sentiment (Cheerful Daisies stamp set) was stamped in Berry Burst and cut up with my Paper Snips.
To finish I added a few gold sequins from the Neutral Adhesive Backed Sequins pack. I’m glad these useful embellishments are carrying over to the new catalogue.
More Torn Flowers
Here is another card I created a while ago using this Designer Series Paper and torn flowers. This fancy fold card was created as part of one of my Monthly card Classes. A tutorial bundle for the 5 cards in the class is available to purchase now in my download store.
Let’s Hop
I hope you have enjoyed my project. Do leave a comment if you can, because it certainly makes my day. Then it is time to hop around all the other projects’
How Can I Help?
We love to create these projects to share with you, but we love it even more when you share your projects with us. I hope you will be inspired to join the Festive Friday Challenge and share what you have created, inspired by our Inspo List.
If you love this Designer Series paper, make sure to get it in your basket before April 30th, because that is when the Last Chance items will disappear.
Don’t hesitate to get in touch if I can help with your purchases, or if you have a crafty question.
Meanwhile stay safe and stay well
