My blog today is sharing my Poinsettia Petals project for The Blog Hop I am participating in with the other Demonstrators who have contributed to this month’s Creative Stampers Tutorial Bundle.

My Blog Hop Project

For this card, I stamped four layers of the poinsettia onto shimmery white card stock – 1 large, 1 medium and 1 small in Cherry Cobbler and 1 large in Garden Green. The petals were in-filled with water painters and ink. The Garden Green layer had hints of Cherry Cobbler on the ends and the smallest layer had the centre section stamped in Crushed Curry.

The foliage in the background was stamped onto a piece of Whisper White card with Mossy Meadow, Garden Green, Soft Suede and Crushed Curry. The “berries” on the Soft Suede stems were stamped in Versamark and heat embossed with white to give some extra texture.

To give the poinsettia more body, all of the petals were shaped with a bone folder, before they were layered up. A large double bow of linen thread was added to the card, before attaching the poinsettia. The sentiment was stamped onto a label die cut from the Stitched So Sweetly set. This was curled and was attached with a double height of dimensionals in the middle and a glue dot either end.

After layering the White card layer onto a layer of Cherry Cobbler card and then onto a Garden Green card base, the finish touch was some pearls coloured with dark Cherry Cobbler Blends.

The bonus of stamping onto shimmery white card is the added sparkle it gives you.
