Today I am using a card sketch that I created and sharing the cards it inspired.
Card Sketches are a great way of sparking our creativity. It can be hard to choose what to make when you have so many gorgeous products to choose from, so a sketch gives us a framework to build on. This simple sketch invites us to use diferent papers, or textures in the background.
My Projects Using a Card Sketch
Here, this sketch was used in conjunction with the Daffodil Afternoon Designer Series paper. This pack of paper is one of the Sale-a-Bration items you are able to choose for free when you make a qualifying purchase before 28th February.
Daffodil and Butterflies
This first card combines two designs from the paper pack with one of the layered detailed die cut daffodils from the Daffodil Daydream Bundle. The colours of the daffodil were taken from the papers: Pale Papaya, Flirty Flamingo, Crushed Curry and Evening Evergreen. These colours were also used to die cut some of the cute layered butterflies that are also in this bundle. The daffodil was arranged onto some layering circles along with one of those butterflies.
The sentiment on this card comes from the new “Celebrating You” stamp set.
Change the Orientation
You can also take your sketch and turn it around, like in this second card.
This card uses two more designs from the Daffodil Afternoon Designer Series Paper. This time, scalloped rectangles were cut with the Stitched So Sweetly dies. The daffodil image from the Daffodil Daydream bundle was stamped in Evening Evergreen ink and then coloured with watercolor pencils. The thank you sentiment was again taken from the versatile “Celebrate You” stamp set. The card was then embellished with some Playing with Patterns Resin dots and some Evening Evergreen twine from the new Fan Bakers Twine collection
How Can I Help
Just by changing the orientation of the sketch and the papers and product we use, we are able to create some very different cards. These two cards also highlight the versatility and also the different looks that can be achieved with the Daffodil Daydream bundle and those coordinating Daffodil Afternoon papers. If you order the bundle, then you can choose the papers for free during Sale-a-Bration.
Lastly, here are a couple more cards I created recently from a different sketch. I have also had fun recently with the Daffodil Daydream Bundle. This earlier post shows these projects. It certainly is a beautiful collection for your springtime crafting.
Don’t hesitate to get in touch if I can help with your purchases, or if you have a crafty question.
Meanwhile stay safe and stay well
