Today I am sharing a barbeque themed card, which makes a perfect card for the men.

It has been created for the latest Stamping With Friends Blog Hop. For this one we have been challenged to create a card using strips of cardstock or designer series paper. As you hop around, you will be able to see what this diverse group of Demonstrators from around the world have been inspired to create.

For my project I decided to use the He’s The Man Speciality Designer Series Paper and to incorporate strips of paper alongside some of the die cut pop out pieces that are available in this paper pack.

A Barbeque Themed Card

The card base is Early Espresso. The paper pieces are all built up on a Cajun Craze mat. I have taken 5 strips of DSP measuring 2.5cm x 10cm / 1″ x 4″ and I have then distressed the edges with the blade of my snips. The torn notebook style piece on the card is one of the pop outs from the paper pack. The strips have been stuck over the top, so they are slightly higgledy piggledy. I love that phrase and the dictionary definition is “in confusion or disorder”

Next some Black twine has been wrapped twice around this Cajun Craze mat and then tied with a bow. This mat can was then stuck to the card front.

The sentiment panel and barbeque are two more of the paper pop out pieces from the Speciality Designer Series paper pack which have then been added with dimensionals. Finally, three of the stars have been added to the front of the card with dimensionals.

The card insert is also one of the pop outs that has simply been stuck inside the card.
