For this month’s Blogging Friends Blog Hop I have created a Bermuda Bay monochrome card.
The theme for this Blog Hop is World Ovarian Cancer Awareness Day, which happens on May 8th. Obviously this day is dedicated to raising awareness of the symptoms of this cancer and as a craft whose participants are predominantly women, we can play our part.
These are some of the signs to look out for, according to the Ovarian Cancer Action website. Click the link to see more information.
A Bermuda Bay Monochrome Card
For my project I have used Bermuda Bay to reflect the colour of the Ovarian Cancer Charity ribbons. I have combined this with products from the Sun Prints Suite to create this monochromatic card.
A4 Metric | Letter Size Imperial | |
Bermuda Bay Card base | 14.9cm x 21cm Scored at 10.5cm on the long side | 8 1/2″ x 5 1/2″ Scored at 4 1/4″ on the long side |
Bermuda Bay | 13.9cm x 9.5cm | 5″ x 3 3/4″ |
Basic White Insert | 13.9cm x 9.5cm | 5″ x 3 3/4″ |
Instructions
- Fold the card base along the score line.
- Emboss the Bermuda Bay mat of cardstock with the Fern 3D embossing folder. Stick to the card base
- Die cut the largest and 3rd largest stitched circles from the Stylish Shapes dies.
- Stamp some ferns and flowers from the Nature’s prints stamp set onto the largest circle with Bermuda Bay ink. Add some colour to the flowers with a Bermuda Bay watercolor pencil and blend over the flower with Wink of Stella. Stick to the card front with multipurpose adhesive.
- Heat emboss the sentiment on the smaller circle with White Embossing Powder and add some more Bermuda May fern.
- Colour some White Crinkled Seam Binding with a Dark Bermuda Bay Stampin’ Blend and swirl across the back of the sentiment circle before sticking it to the card front with dimensionals.
- Colour some Basic Rhinestones with the Bermuda Bay Stampin’ Blends and stick to the card front.
- Decorate and stick the insert inside the card.
Let’s Hop
I hope you have enjoyed my project. Do leave a comment if you can, because it certainly makes my day. Then it is time to hop around all the other projects
