The theme for this blog hop was “Anything but a card” so I decided to create a Box Frame with Hydrangea Hill Products.
My Project
I have a couple of Box Frames standing on top of one of my units and one was due a refresh. The beautiful piece of Designer Series paper in the Hydrangea Hill pack with the large panel of blooms, was the perfect starting point.
- Tools: Hydrangea Dies, Brilliant Wings Dies, Playful Alphabet Dies
- Paper/Card: Basic White; Hydrangea Hill DSP, Butterfly Bijou DSP; Rococo Rose; Seaside Spray; Gorgeous Grape
- Embellishments: Gorgeous Grape Sheer Ribbon; Pastel Pearls
- Adhesives; Multipurpose Liquid Glue; Glue Dots
A4 Metric | Imperial Letter Size | |
Basic White Base | 18cm x 18cm | 7″ x 7″ |
Flower Panel Hydrangea Hill DSP | 18cm x 14cm | 7″ x 5 1/4″ |
Green Check Hydrangea Hill DSP | 18cm x 4cm | 7″ x 1 3/4″ |
Butterfly Bijou DSP | Die cut butterfly | Die cut butterfly |
Instructions
- Stick the two panels of paper to the square of Basic White to create the background.
- Wrap a length of ribbon around the card where the two papers meet and attach to the back.
- Die cut the small blossoms from Seaside Spray , Rococo Rose and Gorgeous Grape card stock. Using dots of glue, stick to the blooms on the background.
- Die cut the word “friends” from Rococo rose and Gorgeous Grape cardstock using the Playful Alphabet dies. Stick them together so the Rococo Rose creates a shadow effect behind the Gorgeous Grape.
- Stick them in place on the background, following the curve of the flowers on the paper.
- Using the Brilliant Wings dies, cut out a butterfly from the Butterfly Bijou DSP. Curve the wings slightly with a bone folder and then stick to the background, just applying glue down the body section.
- Add a bow of the sheer ribbon with a glue dot and finish with some pearls.
- Put the design into a 18cm / 7″ Box frame.
- You could use this design as a large card front if you choose to.
Let’s Hop
