Today’s blog post features a Christmas Card Using Layered Patterned Paper.
This card is my contribution to the Design Team’s selection for the latest Festive Friday Challenge, which is celebrating xxxxx.
We have used this occasion to come up with a list of elements that we call our Inspo List.
The Inspo List is 10 items you can choose from to create your project in our card making and paper crafting challenge. Incorporate THREE of the items in your project and link up! And guess what? Your project doesn’t have to be about the theme at all! The selected festivity is just a unique way to come up with a fun and interesting inspiration list!

A Christmas Card Using Layered Patterned Paper
The Sentimental Christmas pack of Designer Series paper was on my craft desk as I had used it for my Day Retreat projects last week. I hadn’t however created a project with the cute deer yet, so I took this opportunity. The background paper featured Poppy parade strips and the the paper on the front mat is Pecan Pie, one of my favourite neutral colours. I love how the white snowflakes pop on this paper.
I backed both of these mats of Patterned Paper with Basic Black card to make them pop . Some white twine was wrapped around the Pecan Pie paper mat several times and finished with a bow. The Striped mat was added t a standard book fold Poppy Parade card base. The square mat was then added on an angle..
The wreath of spruce boughs with the deer and birds was fussy cut from a sheet of patterned paper. before being added to the card front with dimensionals. The sentiment was stamped onto a die cut label with Versamark before being heat embossed in white. To attach the label, I untied the bow in the twine and then tied the label on. I added a dimensional to the bottom of the tag to stick it where the tag overhung the label.
The finishing touch was 3 of the Adhesive Backed Swirl Dots.
Inside Matters Too
Of course we can’t leave the inside of the card bare, so I have made more use of the Patterned paper on the insert. There is a torn strip of striped paper layered over a piece of the Pecan Pie snowflake paper. I cut a small bird sitting on a spruce bough from the paper to add to the corner.

How Can I Help?
This beautiful Sentimental Christmas paper pack is special for a couple of reasons. Not only does it enable you to create gorgeous projects with a vintage feel, but it is also Stampin’ Up’s giveback project for this year. For every pack of paper that you buy, a £2.50 donation will be given to a project that is working to benefit children’s literacy in the UK.
I am delighted that I choose this paper for my All Day retreat, knowing that my bulk order also maximised the donations for charity.
We love to create these projects to share with you, but we love it even more when you share your projects with us. I hope you will be inspired to join the Festive Friday Challenge and share what you have created, inspired by our Inspo List.
Don’t hesitate to get in touch if I can help with your purchases, or if you have a crafty question.
Meanwhile stay safe and stay well
