I had great fun creating a Christmas Jumper card for the latest Festive Friday Challenge. The Challenge is getting ready for this year’s Christmas Jumper Day which is happening on December 10th.
This year will be the 10th year that Save the Children have organised a Christmas jumper Day to raise money for their work with vulnerable children worldwide.
Each year people from the youngest to the oldest have put on their festive jumpers and got into the Christmas Spirit, at the same time as helping this charity with its important work. This year it inspired us to also use it as the inspiration for our challenge.
The Inspo List is 10 items you can choose from to create your project in our card making and paper crafting challenge. Incorporate THREE of the items in your project and link up! And guess what? Your project doesn’t have to be about the theme at all! The selected festivity is just a unique way to come up with a fun and interesting inspiration list!
My project used: jumper, tinsel, red, green, felt
My Project
I heard the other day that Aran jumpers are very on trend for men this Christmas. This Designer Series paper is more of a waffle knit, but no less fun. I used it to cover the front of a tent fold card and then cut the neck line with layering circle dies. I used more dies to cut the ribbed piece around the neck.
The sleeves were cut free hand and again a “ribbed” cuff was added with Designer Series paper.
I used the Jolly Felt from the Sweet Stockings Suite and the Christmas tree Dies to create my motif for the front of my jumper. I also added in some stars cut with a die from the Stockings dies.
The sentiment was stamped onto another piece of Designer Series Paper in Cherry Cobbler ink. I used the tailor Tag labels to cut the paper. “Let’s celebrate” comes from the Peaceful Deer stamp set. I added some more felt on the back of the die cut.
This was a fun card to create and you could certainly experiment with different papers and die cuts to create lots of Christmas Jumpers.
