I had great fun creating a cute Valentine’s card with robots and a thank you card using the adorable Nuts & Bolts stamp set from Stampin’ Up on a recent Live.

This is a photopolymer stamp featuring three quirky little robots. The line drawings offer lots of opportunities for adding colour with a variety of techniques.
A Card for a Kind Human

Firstly, a thank you card. This fun little card uses a robot who has been coloured with Stampin’ Blends and then combines him with papers from the Bright’s Paper stack. The Balmy Blue cardstock was embossed, appropriately, with the Hammered Metal 3d embossing folder.
The inspiration for the colour palette came from the latest Colour Inkspiration Challenge that runs on Facebook. This is a great Challenge for everyone, because it doesn’t rely on you having somewhere to link your entry back to. You simply post your photograph of your finished project in the Facebook group.

I used Sahara sand cardstock for my card base and also to fussy cut the little hearts. I thought the addition of the silver thread and some Blue Adhesive-Backed gems added some robotic glitz.

A Cute Valentine’s Card with Robots
Of course it was important to decorate the inside of the card. I added a robot and hearts stamped in Sahara Sand and some more of that Bright paper.

This second card was a bit of a CASE from the mini catalogue. The sample in the catalogue uses the Tailored Tag punch to create a stencil to add colour. As this was a Valentine’s card, I used one of the Heart punches. Two of the words in the sentiment were stamped onto coloured card and overlaid to add a fun detail. I used my Shimmery Crystal effects to add sparkle and dimension to the hearts and flower. The centre of that adorable cog flower is a Fresh Freesia In Color gem. (I added the detail to the smaller hearts after the Live had finished)

Again, I made sure to decorate the inside with this adorable love struck robot and some more ink blending.
