I have created a faux book treat box for this month’s Blogging Friends Blog Hop. The theme this month is Sweet Conversations 3D Projects.

I dug out the Sweet Talk Suite to create this sweet treat box.

A Faux Book Treat Box

A Faux Book Treat Box using Stampin' Up's Sweet Talk Suite of products

This little treat box has magnetic closures as well as Highland Heather ribbon to secure it shut. The Designer Series Paper on the front features lots of sweets and lollipops and there is space inside for real sweets and treats.

Instructions

The cover is made from a piece of cardstock measuring 14.9cm x 20cm (5 3/4″ x 8″). The inner box is a piece of cardstock measuring 10.5cm x 15.9cm (6 1/2″ x 4 1/2″), scored on all 4 sides at 1.5cm (3/4″). There are 2 strips of card measuring 12.8cm x 3cm (4 15/16″ x 1 1/2″), scored at 1.5cm(3/4″) on the short side and folded. One edge is stuck to the inside of the box to form the top flap pieces. The magnets are stuck to the underside of the flaps on each side. Once the box is attached to the cover, the other half of the magnets are stuck in place on the cover. The decorated mat covers them. This mat of Real Red card measures 8.5cm x 14.4cm (5 1/2″ x 3 1/4″) and the DSP is 8cm x 13.9cm (5 1/4″ x 3″) .

To decorate the front of the box, I punched out some hearts with the Heart Punch pack. The Basic White heart was decorated with the some stamps from the sweet Conversation stamp set and fussy cut sweets from the DSP. The sentiment from the set was heat embossed in white and die cut with a label die from the Bouquet of Love Hybrid Embossing Folder set. The strip of hearts behind the raised hearts was cut using the Sweet Heart dies. Some of the gorgeous Iridescent Rhinestones add some sparkle.

Punched hearts decorate this faux book treat box using products from Stampin' Up

A stamped, stitched scalloped rectangle from the Scalloped Contour dies was added to the inside cover of the treat box. That gives the sender someone to write their love message.
