A Fresh & Modern St. Patrick’s Day Card

For today’s post I have created a fresh and Modern St Patrick’s Day card

This card is my contribution to the Design Team’s selection for the latest Festive Friday Challenge, which is celebrating St Patrick’s day

We have used this occasion to come up with a list of elements that we call our Inspo List.

The Inspo List is 10 items you can choose from to create your project in our card making and paper crafting challenge.  Incorporate THREE of the items in your project and link up! And guess what? Your project doesn’t have to be about the theme at all!  The selected festivity is just a unique way to come up with a fun and interesting inspiration list! 

My project used:

• Green
• Yellow
• Green Gems
• Twine
• Splatters
• Clover

(I may have got a little carried away… but when it works, it works! 😉)

A Fresh & Modern St. Patrick’s Day Card

As part of the Design Team, I created a clean and vibrant green card inspired by this week’s Inspo List – and I had so much fun layering up all those clover images.

Building the Background

The background was created using stamps from the Impressions Abloom stamp set. By stamping the circular “blob” flower centre and stem images in Granny Apple Green and then adding depth with a Dark Granny Apple Green Stampin’ Blend, I was able to transform them into four-leaf clovers.

I love how versatile stamps can be when you look at them differently!

To add texture and movement, I stamped splatters from the Swirled Designs stamp set across the background. This gives that slightly whimsical, celebratory feel without overwhelming the design.

Colour Combination

For this project I used:

• Granny Apple Green (card base & ink)
• Lemon Lime Twist (mat layer)
• Daffodil Delight (mat layer)

The yellow layers really help the green pop and stop the card from feeling flat. It’s bright, cheerful and perfect for spring.

Finishing Touches

The sentiment from Reason to Celebrate was stamped and layered across the centre to anchor the design.

I added:

• Shades of Green Hexagons for sparkle
• Twine for texture, which was white, but coloured with the dark Granny Apple green blend
• A fussy cut four-leaf clover element for dimension
