A Male 21st Birthday Card

Today’s blog post features a male 21st birthday card which I created for my nephew recently. I am sharing my project with you for this month;s Creativity Abounds Blog Hop.

A Male 21st Birthday Card

Here in the UK we are still able to get the Rhino Ready Bundle as part of the Online Exclusive range of products. I have combined this cling mount set with the Alphabet a la Mode dies which I used for the numbers.

Instructions

This black slimline card features a Gold foil layer. Of course I gutted the centre from that layer with my trimmer, because we don’t want to be wasting shiny card.

On the top of the gold foil is a mat of Basic Black card onto which I have stuck lots of black die cut “21’s” I used Adhesive Sheet on the back of my die cuts to make them easier to attach. I also cut one set in Gold Foil and that has been added over the top of one of the black numbers to give a little extra height.

The label on the card is die cut with the Nested Essentials set. A scene has been built up on the label using stamps and dies from The Rhino Ready bundle. The rhino was coloured with Stampin’ Blend markers.

The “hope your birthday is wild” is a great sentiment for a 21 year old. I joined my nephew for his birthday barbecue, but I was tucked up in bed long before the youngsters had finished celebrating.

How can I Help?

Here is my now 21 year old nephew on his Graduation Day this week, just a couple of days after his birthday celebrations.

If you are struggling to create a card for a young person, I hope the idea of lots of numbers in the background has inspired you. Of course you don’t have to use rhinos on your card, but can decorate your label with stamps and dies that reflect the interests of the recipient.
