Today I am sharing a masculine circular easel card that I have created for the Monochromatic Insta Hop.
Each week Demonstrators from the Crafty Collaborations Community take part in a Monochromatic Insta Hop over on Instagram. Each week a different colour is chosen and the participants create a monochromatic card.
The colour this week is Cajun Craze and I can’t wait to see all the other ideas that my fellow demonstrators have come up with
A Masculine Circular Easel Card
Cajun Craze is not a colour I use a great deal of, so this one was a challenge. For this card I decided to use the Bistro Burger bundle and to create a circular easel card. using the Deckled Circles dies As well as the Cajun Craze base, I also cut circular layers from Basic Black and another Cajun Craze layer for both the base and the panel of the card. I added some detail to the Cajun Craze layers using Cajun Craze ink and a small texture stamp from the Spotlight on Nature stamp set.
The burger was stamped onto Fluid 100 watercolor paper with Saddle Brown Stazon ink. I used a water painter to paint the bun with Cajun Craze ink. The burger was Early Espresso, the lettuce Granny Apple Green and the tomatoes Real Red.
For the chips (fries) I gave them a base coat of Basic Beige then added in highlights of Cajun Craze.
The die cut knife was cut in Gray Granite and Basic Black cardstock. and the bunting from Cajun Craze and black.
The sentiments were stamped onto Cajun Craze card and then backed with Basic Black. One was added to the panel of the card and the other was used to create the stopper for the easel card. I did use a stamping platform for the sentiment to ensure I got a good strong colour. To finish decorating the front panel of the card, some Adhesive Backed Texture dots were added.
A Basic White circle was die cut to add to the bottom of the card to give you somewhere to write your greeting.
My card may not be strictly speaking monochromatic, but I have got as much Cajun Craze in as possible, whether in cardstock or the water colouring.
