A Monochromatic Butterfly Card

Each week Demonstrators from the Crafty Collaborations Community take part in a Monochromatic Insta Hop over on Instagram. Each week a different colour is chosen and the participants create a monochromatic card.

The colour this week is Pretty Peacock and I can’t wait to see all the other ideas that my fellow demonstrators have come up with

A Monochromatic Butterfly Card

To create my card I created a standard sized card blank in Pretty Peacock. To this I added a mat of basic white card. Next a layer of Pretty Peacock that had been embossed with the Layered Florals 3D embossing folder. I distressed the edges of this embossed layer to add some more texture.

The large butterfly was stamped in Pretty Peacock ink and then a Blender pen was used to drag out the colour, so the butterfly has a softer tone of the Pretty Peacock outline.

The sentiment was heat embossed in gold, to pick up the flecks of gold in the swirl of Pretty Peacock & Gold ribbon and also in the Pretty Peacock foiled gems that are scattered across the card front.
