A Monochromatic Card With Seashells

I have created a monochromatic card with seashells in shades of blue for this latest Stamping with friends Blog hop.

This blog hop brings together demonstrators from around the world to share ideas and inspiration with you. For this hop, they will be using different hues of the same colour to bring you a range of monochromatic projects, in addition they will all be using Stampin’ up products.

A Monochromatic Card With Seashells

It has been a little while since I created with this bundle of products. However, with its connection to the sea, it felt like a brilliant choice for creating a card in blues. This cleverly designed collection allows you to die cut, stamp and then emboss this large collection of shells. the shells were stamped in Night of Navy, Misty Moonlight, Pacific Point and Balmy Blue. The coordinating embossing folder additionally gives the shells such texture.

I wanted to create an interesting background for my card. Firstly, this sheet of Basic White card was spritzed with a mixture of rubbing alcohol and Pacific Point ink refill. Afterwards some Night of Navy ink splatters were added over the top. I then stamped on the top with one of the small solid stamps from the stamp set in Balmy Blue. This mat was added to a Night of Navy card base.

This provided a great watery backdrop for the shells. After adding the sentiment and some Night of Navy Twine, the front of the card was finished with some Blue Adhesive gems.

The insert for the card had some shells and seaweed stamped on it to tie it in with the front.
