For today’s blog post I have created a rainbow card from a card sketch.
The sketch is the subject of this month’s Crafty Challenge Blog Hop. Sketches are a useful tool in sparking our creativity. Sometimes when we look at all the variety of craft supplies we have, it can be difficult to know where to start. It is often useful, therefore, to be given some parameters to narrow down the choices.
Like all sketches, it is possible to use different shapes than those used in the sketch and even to change the orientation of the sketch.
A Rainbow Card from a Card Sketch
The Abstract Beauty Designer Series Paper from the January – June mini catalogue is a glorious mix of colour, pattern and gold foiling. I used a couple of designs from this paper pack to build up the layers on the card base. The sentiment was stamped onto the Designer Series paper.
The cloud punch was used to punch two clouds from the Mother of Pearl Speciality paper and another from the Layering Vellum. The Brilliant Rainbow dies were used to cut the rainbow from Blushing Bride, Magenta Madness, Crushed Curry and Blue Balmy cardstock. I also had “bows” left over to create three more rainbows. These clouds and the rainbow were added to the bottom of the card. Some Opal Rounds and some gold thread give the finishing touch to the front.
Let’s Hop
I hope you have enjoyed my project. Do leave a comment if you can, because it certainly makes my day. Then it is time to hop around all the other projects
