Today’s blog post is featuring a slimline card with elephants that I have created as my design team project for the new Festive Friday Challenge.
This challenge #FF0132 is celebrating Global Pay It Forward Day which is coming up on April 28th. This day always makes me think of the beautiful film featuring the little boy who starts a movement of paying good deeds forward and about the impact it would have on the world. It is a great philosophy and certainly worth celebrating.
The Festive Friday Design Team take the theme of the challenge and use it to compile a list of elements we call the Inspo List.
The Inspo List is 10 items you can choose from to create your project in our card making and paper crafting challenge. Incorporate THREE of the items in your project and link up! And guess what? Your project doesn’t have to be about the theme at all! The selected festivity is just a unique way to come up with a fun and interesting inspiration list!
My project used: Kindness Sentiment, Heart embellishments, slimline card, alcohol markers, blue and envelope.
A Slimline Card With Elephants
For this card I used the Elephant Parade Bundle to create the cute elephants on the front and the leaves. The hearts came from the Sentiment Silhouette dies and the clouds were created with the cloud punch.
Creating The Card
This Orchid Oasis slimline card base was sized to fit one of Stampin’ Up’s slimline envelopes. It was 21cm x 19cm , scored at 9.5cm on the short side. The imperial equivalent would be 8 1/2″ x 7 1/2″ scored at 3 3/4″ on the short side.
The Designer Series Paper was from the Flowers & More host pack, which is bursting with bright colours and florals. This was added to a mat of Starry Sky cardstock and some Sweet Sorbet twine was wrapped around it.
The elephants, balloon and leaves were all stamped onto Basic White card with Memento ink and coloured with Stampin’ Blends, For the elephants, I used Smokey Slate and Petal Pink, the balloon was Sweet Sorbet and the leaves Parakeet Party.
There are coordinating dies for all these pieces, so cutting them out is easy. Oce cut they were arranged onto the card front, along with the sentiment strip.
The clouds were punched from Basic White card and a blending brush was used to add ink around the edges.
The Sweet Sorbet Die cut hearts were created using the solid heart die from the Sentiment Silhouette die set and Wink of Stella gave them extra sparkle. The heart pearls were coloured with a Sweet Sorbet Stampin’ Blend so they coordinated.
To make sure the envelope coordinated, some more of the Designer Series Paper was added to the flap.
Some of the leaves were then stamped on the inside of the card to add some decoration.
Let’s Hop
I hope you have enjoyed my project. Do leave a comment if you can, because it certainly makes my day. Then it is time to hop around all the other projects

Helen, your card is so darn cute! Love those elephants and all the wonderful details on your card.
Adorable card, love the “texture” on the background, I thought it was a die but see it’s DSP. Looks great!
Helen, your little elephants are absolutely adorable. I love the little scene you created with the bed of leaves, puffy clouds, and little red hearts. Love it!
