For today’s new Festive Friday Challenge I have created a slimline card with hexagonals.
This new Festive Friday Challenge is celebrating World Bee Day, which is happening on May 20th. The Design Team used this theme to come up with the Inspo List.
The Inspo List is 10 items you can choose from to create your project in our card making and paper crafting challenge. Incorporate THREE of the items in your project and link up! And guess what? Your project doesn’t have to be about the theme at all! The selected festivity is just a unique way to come up with a fun and interesting inspiration list!
My project used: Hexagonals, Twine. Hive, Embossing, Bees, Flowers, Yellow, Black
A Slimline Card with Hexagonals
The Beautiful Shapes dies have not been in my collection for long, but this was the perfect occasion to use them.
The background on the card was embossed with clear embossing powder and a stamp from the Honeybee Stamp set to give it some texture and details.
A piece of Petal Pink cardstock was stamped with the bees and colour was then added with watercolor pencils.
The largest Crushed Curry hexagon was embossed with the Hive Embossing Folder.
Two small hexagons were cut from the floral patterned paper from the Tea Boutique pack. Details were finally added to the edge of the three smallest hexagons using a black watercolor pencil.
The card was embellished with a bow of Black Twine and some Brushed Metallic Dots.

Wow, Helen! I love the slimline design. The hexagons are a delightful mix of gorgeous papers and texture. The subtle embossing is a wonderful detail. This is such a perfect layout. I LOVE everything about this card.
